Career Highlights

After completing my undergrad at TMU, I attended Western University in London, Ont. to complete my Master of Media in Journalism and Communication (MMJC) degree. It was an exhilarating experience in a new city, where I gained lots more hands-on experience as a multi-media journalist and developed new skills in communications.

Co-producing The Eyeopener‘s 2025 sports issue, “Blurring the Boundaries,” was incredibly fulfilling. For this 20-story print and online edition, my co-editor Daniel Carrero and I sought stories of people pushing limits in sports. The ambitious project fused my love for sports, passion for research and desire to make a difference through journalism.

The 2025 U Sports University Cup put a bow on everything I’d done at TMU. Our team from The Eyeopener travelled to Ottawa and covered the whole tournament, including the TMU Bold’s journey to a fourth-place finish, with reporting, photos and social media content. This all came just before “Blurring the Boundaries” was published, making for an invigorating weekend.

During my final semester at TMU, I was fortunate to intern at Maclean’s. At the St. Joseph’s Communications office, I met journalists I look up to and learned a ton about the Canadian magazine industry.
I am now a regular freelance fact-checker for Maclean’s, checking essays and features covering innovation, politics, healthcare and more.

Covering the Mississauga Steelheads for Intermission Sports allowed me to harness my interviewing and writing abilities. I curated relationships in the press box and put my skills in reporting and analysis to work, including surrounding the team’s move to Brampton.
