Journalism Experience
My experience in the journalistic field is comprised primarily of my work with campus publications, though I have also done freelance work and applied my craft in work and volunteer opportunities outside of the media industry.
The Eyeopener
Contributor (2021-present) and Sports Editor (2024-present)
- Work alongside the masthead to produce timely and accurate articles for weekly publications online and in print
- Produce pages on InDesign for bi-weekly print editions
- Pitch weekly stories and manage/produce stories and writers, while also managing and editing game recaps for every TMU Bold home game
- Written game recaps, previews, features and more for the sports section
- Covered the 2024 U Sports men’s hockey championship under tight deadlines
- Taken photos at live soccer and volleyball games for the sports section
Intermission Sports
Writer (2021-present), podcast host (2023-present) and Co-Editor-in-Chief, Content (2023-present)
- Pitching, writing and editing team previews, analyses, editorials and other sports articles
- Beat reporting on the Mississauga Steelheads and Ontario Hockey League (two seasons)
- Work with and lead fellow editors, writers and content creators to produce timely content
- Host, produce and edit the Intermission Snapshot podcast with a rolling team of co-hosts and guests
Freelancing
ORIMS – Volunteer
- Conducted interviews, wrote, and edited articles for quarterly PULSE magazines
- Produced a video for “Puffin Pitch” presentation
